Rae Carter

Practicum Student

Hi! My name is Rae Carter (she/her). I'm a practicum student at Mountaintop Therapy Group and plan to stay through my internship. I am very excited to begin the next chapter of my counseling career! I graduated from Auburn University with a BA in Psychology and am in the final stages of completing my Master's degree from The Chicago School. I've always felt drawn to helping and supporting others and know personally the healing impact of therapy, so I am honored to continue the tradition by becoming a counselor myself. I am interested in the areas of building self-esteem, social skills, addressing trauma, reducing anxiety through client-centered modalities like art therapy, group work, play therapy, and even through tabletop gaming. When not in the office, you can usually find me dabbling in one of my many artistic endeavors, playing video games, or spending quality time with my wife and our two dogs and two cats.
