I am a Master's student completing my degree in Mental Health counseling. My expected finish date is August 2026. I have been a registered nurse since 2004. Throughout my nursing career I have seen how intertwined mental health and physical health are and have enjoyed spending time at the bedside talking with patients. Through this I felt drawn to help mend souls in addition to bodies so I pursued a degree in counseling while keeping my nursing license active. I have nursing experience in neurotrauma, cardiology, ENT, and med-surg. My counseling areas of interest include spirituality, play therapy, neurobiology, attachment theory, mindfulness, grief, and meaning-making. I am registered to begin EMDR basic Training at Riverbend Counseling with Thistle Newcomb LPC.
